aqooa was born of a simple observation shared by our international team: wherever we go - in the mountains, in the city, in the countryside - we see people buying bottled water. Even where the water should be pure, even where the public infrastructure is efficient, even where each liter transported costs effort... Plastic bottles are everywhere. In Europe, over 60% of people say they regularly drink bottled water.
Why this paradox in developed countries, where tap water is supposed to be safe to drink? The answer can be summed up in one word: trust.
Because the quality of tap water is increasingly being called into question. The growing presence of PFAS ("eternal pollutants"), pesticides, microplastics and heavy metals is a cause for concern. And understandably so: who wants to have doubts with every sip?
But can we reasonably imagine filtering 100% of the water distributed nationwide, when only a small fraction is actually drunk? It makes neither economic nor ecological sense to equip an entire country for such a small proportion of usage.
Our conviction at aqooais that the solution must come from the individual.
The technology exists to purify water efficiently at home.
What's missing is to make it affordable, easy to understand for the general public, and easy to adopt.
